Entry into the seafood heaven

Where’s the best fish in north Goa? Hotel Vinayak it is. Located in lush green fields of Assagao, Vinayak family restaurant and bar is stealing the hearts of not just Goans but local and foreign tourists as well. Their speciality is the fresh seafood that they prepare each day. The ambiance is beautiful with the open view of the stretched out fields, except at times when houseflies annoy you in the outdoors seating. It’s a go-to place for college students for their everyday fish thali, giving a variety of choices of fish. They have other cuisines too but why would you go to a place known for the authentic Goan seafood right? Vinayak, honestly has been my favourite place to visit as it’s affordable and pleasing to the taste buds. They have 3-seating places, one indoor and two outdoors. Talking about their service, it is quite good and quick while taking orders and the staff is polite too. However, it can get get very chaotic once the crowd pops in after 1 o’clock as no tables are left vacant.

Sweet Lime Soda

To quench our thirst we ordered sweet lime soda which was extremely satisfying. And they got it quickly like within a minute I would say so that’s definitely a plus for that.

Chicken Lollipops

Okay so even though I said don’t try chicken in a seafood specialty restaurant, I did try it for the sake of the review.

Chicken lollipops were five in a plate with a little salad and red sauce. I expected the lollipops to be crispy but they were beyond my expectations, not in a good way though. It was quite difficult to bite into the hard coat of the chicken lollipop. The dip sauce which came with it was extremely yummy and my favourite.

Cheese Garlic Naan

Cheese Garlic Naan was my favourite. It has the gooey texture of cheese melting inside your mouth with every bite while having a punch of garlic taste on your taste buds. The quantity was amazing and it smelled divine.

Modso Fish Thali

Fish Thali- Normal thali is usually priced at around Rs. 130/- while the special thali is Rs. 300/-. We had the modso fish thali and as you can see, there is a variety of food items in the little bowls shouting out happiness and some tasty food. They provided a good amount of rice, silver fish curry, Tisryo or Clams fried in masala, Ambot Tik (very pungent), Bhaji, Kismoor, Salad, Mixed pickle, Fish Fillet and finally Sol Curry to help you in digestion.
