Where? Cafe Knowwhere

Cafe Knowwhere is a place to shut down your growling stomach noise at affordable rates. Located at the Kamat Building’s underground floor, this cafe is become a go-to hang out spot for students especially the St. Xavier’s HSS and College, Mapusa students. Having such a close proximity with the college, students are seen crowded at the place sometimes even waiting eagerly for empty tables. It doesn’t just have good food and reasonable rates but also loads of games, music and entertainment at your service. The people serving there are quite friendly, polite and readily available at all times, providing best customer service to their customers. I’ve personally been to the place many times and I love the atmosphere there. Another advantage is, the cashier also gives a discount to students with their ID Cards. So that’s one reason to carry your school/college ID card, isn’t it?

Grilled Chicken Sandwich

This sandwich is overloaded with mayonnaise and chicken and really fills your stomach. It’s perfectly grilled and crunchy, so once you take a bite, it makes a little crunch sound and the mayonnaise and chicken being the softest elements of the sandwich blend perfectly together. As you can see in the above picture, the sandwiches are also accompanied by two tomato sauce sachets, in case you want a little more flavour.

Chilli Cheese Fries

Chilli Cheese Fries weren’t quite impressive as it was too soft and the flavours didn’t get through enough. Although the quantity was quite heavy and good, the taste wasn’t the one that caught my taste buds.

Chicken Caesar Salad and Orange Juice

Okay so I’m not a salad person honestly and this surely wasn’t my favourite but it was edible and I ate the most of it. Since it was my first time trying out the Chicken Caesar Salad, I would say it’s a 3.5/5 and it wasn’t too bad for me. I loved the balance of the flavoured toast and chicken blending in with the mayonnaise covered cabbage leaves. It’s too much to eat though especially for a non-vegetarian unhealthy junk food lover like myself 😛

About the orange juice, I would say that I have no complaints as I loved it. It was perfect, it was cold, fresh, enriching and a real thirst quencher, so thumbs up 👍🏼 for that one.

Chicken Louisiana Spaghetti Pasta

Hands down by far, this is my top favourite dish of all times and above all restaurants. This pasta I’m telling you guys, will take Cafe Knowwhere to places. This comes in two forms, you can choose at no additional costs between penne or spaghetti. I obviously love spaghetti so I take that most often and I’m so madly in love with this pasta. Even as I’m typing this, my mouth can’t stop watering as I think about the pasta sauce, dripping down as I slurp the spaghetti into my mouth, savouring the flavours in it. The chicken placed on top is crunchy and very tender as I break it into pieces and take a crunchy bite of it along with a little of the spaghetti noodles wrapped around the fork. It’s a total 5/5 dish for me and I know you guys might love it to. A must try pasta at Cafe Knowwhere.

Chicken Tomato Basil Pasta

Their pastas, OMG, can’t stop impressing my taste buds. This Chicken Tomato Basil Pasta also has a choice between penne and spaghetti and is deliciously covered in mozzarella cheese, Basil leaves and tomato puree. It’s not as good as the Chicken Louisiana Pasta but is close to it.

Cafe Knowwhere is definitely yet to be seen everywhere with their reasonable rates, good food, perfect portions and variety of food choices and lots of fun and games. Oh yes, and music too! Their drinks are amazing too, especially the juices, the iced tea, Mojito and the lime soda. However, the chocolate milkshake I tried didn’t impress me as it wasn’t the way I expected. A must try cafe with your bill never emptying your pockets, your taste buds satisfied and your stomachs filled to its fullest. So here’s Cafe Knowwhere for you!

The factory for some yum time

I cannot talk more in excitement than this! To me, Burgers are love and I would die to taste the best of the best burgers. Burger Factory is one place where you enjoy the ambience as well as big fat and tasty burgers.

Located in Morjim and Anjuna, Burger Factory has managed to capture the tourists as well as locals in the best way possible. With the menu having varieties of burgers, my heart always chooses the beef burger with Double Cheddar + Bacon +BBQ Sauce. Believe me, I’ve tried most of their burgers but this one has my whole soul captured.

With a sea view, the Morjim burger factory is the most popular, especially among youngsters and tourists. The service is excellent and the surrounding is quite amazing, with aesthetic features all over the place. The Anjuna one isn’t bad itself, lacking only the beach view. However, the Anjuna Burger Factory remains open even during the Monsoon while the Morjim one shuts down for around 3-4 months.

About the drinks, alcohol is allowed from outside as they serve you only with Milkshakes and soft drinks in Anjuna. I’m not too sure about the one in Morjim but will update about it soon.

About the prices, a burger which can keep your tummy full for the entire day costs about 400-500 Rs (varies from burger to burger). The prices are deserving for these as the taste and the content in each burger is served generously while the burger is quite large.

Lunching at Duler, Goa

In the chaotic place of Duler where traffic stops by for none, The Velchi stands tall with its magnificent glass exterior that attracts every passerby. It’s on the high end side I must say yet the waiters are quite friendly. The atmosphere is quite formal there and the silence can be a little deafening at times. Their interiors have Air Conditioner and the seating is comfortable and decent. There’s no option of thali there hence not many people would choose to go there with families.

Cheese stuffed Chicken Supreme

Cheese Stuffed Chicken Supreme was The Velchi’s iconic dish, which were more like kababs. The Chicken pieces were stuffed with cheddar cheese excessively and barbecued with masala. The masala flavour was somewhere lost as the cheese was overpowering the entire dish. Although served pleasantly to the eyes with some chutney and salad, the starter was too stuffy and can’t be had in large quantities.

Chicken in Hot Garlic Sauce

Chicken in Hot Garlic Sauce was one starter dish that really impressed me. We had asked for a gravy dish actually but instead they got a semi-gravy one. Nevertheless, the aroma was divine and the taste was even better. It wasn’t too spicy and had the taste of red chilli sauce and garlic.

Food Fat is Good Fat

Fat Boyz, a multi-cuisine restaurant caught our attention while passing through Bicholim, Goa. The name itself had a touch of humour attached to it so my friend and I decided to check the place out. Located randomly with just a bright red signboard and the beautifully decorated exterior, Fat Boyz manages to catch the attention of a few of the passers-by. The interior is lit up beautifully with warm lights, clean and hygienic surrounding and flowers and plants adding to the attractive atmosphere of the place. However I do not have the same to say about the staff, there was just one lady waiter there who was quite friendly while the other waiter who approached us had a lot of miscommunication while we were giving our order. He didn’t take our order of the prawn fried rice and instead of the Cheese Garlic Naan, he got us just a plain Naan but anyways it was replaced. Here’s what we ordered,

Squids Recheado Masala Fry

Squids Recheado Masala Fry – was extremely delectable and I would say we definitely had the squids masala till it looked like we cleaned the entire plate. The aroma of the fried squids in the Goan recheado masala filled the air around, getting us even more tempted.

Cheese Garlic Naan

Cheese Garlic Naan – The divine aroma of the cheese and garlic could be felt, and with every bite the blend of the Cheese, garlic and the Naan was a plus for the gravy we had along with it.

Chicken in Green Sauce Gravy

Chicken in Green Sauce Gravy – Had a really mild spicy taste to it but the neutralized coriander sauce was indeed mouth-watering. It felt more like it was a Chicken in Coriander Sauce Gravy but it was an option in the menu as well. The taste was extremely good and every chicken piece was packed with chilly and coriander flavours.

Prawns Fried Rice

Prawns Fried Rice – wasn’t quite impressive to us as it was a bit dry, although had a little flavour. We, however, made up for it by using the Green Sauce Gravy of the Chicken.
